Online Celesta

The Celesta (also known as Celeste) creates a chime-like sound similar to a glockenspiel. When the keys of the celesta are pressed, it results in a hammer hitting a metal bar.

You may be familiar with the sound from famous pieces of music such as Hedwig’s theme from the Harry Potter series. Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy by Tchaikovsky also features the Celesta prominently.

The Celesta is also used in Watch Chimes by Ennio Morricone, from the Spaghetti Western “For a Few Dollars More”. You can listen to this below.

Sheet music arranged especially for use with our online Celesta is available here:

Celestas are only made by two companies in the whole world - Yamaha and Schiedmayer. The cheapest model available on the Yamaha website, the CEL-53, has a recommended retail price of $28,993.00 (£24,885.00). Our online celesta makes this rare and beautiful instrument available to all.
