Online Vibraphone

Play the vibraphone right here with our free and simple online keyboard. The vibraphone is a metallic instrument that resembles the glockenspiel, however the vibraphone is a larger instrument and produces lower frequency notes, which have a softer and more mellow sound.

The vibraphone consists of metal bars arranged in a similar layout to a piano keyboard, which are hit with a mallet, held by the player, to produce the sound.

To play the online vibraphone, you can press the keys on your Qwerty keyboard, click the notes with your mouse, or if you’re using a touch device, tap the keys with your finger. Furthermore, if you have a USB midi device, you can plug this into your computer to play via that method too.

Perhaps one of the most famous vibraphone piece of all time is Left Bank Two by The Noveltones. The piece featured in the soundtrack to the PlayStation 3 game LittleBigPlanet, and has been used as background music in countless other TV shows - including when showcasing art that had been sent in to various art programs on the BBC such as Take Hart and SMart.

In recently released music, the vibraphone has a prominent part in Bon Iver’s 2011 single Holocene. You can hear the instrument at 01:27 onwards in the track.
